Hey, I’m Robin!
As your therapist, I work collaboratively to support you creating a life you envision. My goal is to honor your authenticity while fully acknowledging the complexity and intersectionality of your identity. I aim to bring ease, comfortability, and humor when we work together.
On that note, I am a humanistic and person centered therapist.
Being a humanistic therapist means I like to connect to you as an individual and not just your symptoms or trying to fit you in a box. Person centered means we focus on your experience and self discovery while honoring your identities as well as cultural. Person centered is not to be confused with not honoring and welcoming collectivist ideals and culture but instead honoring that as your experience and working with it, not against it.
I see life as our own stories. Whether you have had the ability to control the narrative of that story or not, together we will work to find your autonomy and write your next chapter together.
I find value in looking at all chapters. This includes our past, our present, and the rough draft you may already have for your future.
Being taken into your story, your journey and experience I would be an aid in your healing and growth.
Learn More About Me and How I Work
I am a person, just like you! Meaning I have my own lived experiences (who knew)! With this I understand the work that goes into showing up every week and doing the hard work. I don’t believe it would be fair of me to request you do what I haven’t. I have experienced the value of therapy and I see the ways in which in can transform our realities and experiences in ways of growth and healing.
Part of this therapeutic journey we would take together I find it most valuable that we have strong rapport with one another. Fostering a strong connection and ensuring we are a good fit is part of the process here. From there we will work to formulate the life you want, who you want to be in that life, gain insight and be challenged along the way.
Some additional insight about me is I have my masters degree in Clinical Psychology with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Additionally I have served as a Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion on the Orange County chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (OC-CAMFT). I remain a current Director of Pre-Licensed on OC-CAMFT Board of Directors.
